10 Tips On What To Do In January
It's winter but the days are starting to get longer. Here are some ideas to make sure we're ready for the 1st day of riding.
- Check your battery and make sure it's staying charged. Battery tenders are great and easy to use but they need to be connected. Check to make sure they're still plugged in and properly connected.
- Look over your gear and determine if any of it needs to be replaced this year. You can usually get a better selection while saving time and money if take the time to shop.
- Stay fit. Believe it or not, it enhances your ride. Visualizing summer riding is a great way to huff and puff through your exercise regime.
- Research your rides for the coming season. There's lots to see and do right here in Ontario and it's fun to explore ideas and begin planning.
- Voice your opinion about Bill 117 to your MPP, the Minister of Transport and the Premier. If you enjoy taking passengers who are under the age of 14, you will not be able to do so if this bill gets passed.
- Roll your tires slightly so your bike isn't resting on the same spots all winter.
- Start any maintenance that needs to be done before spring. Although it seems a long way off, it can pass quickly and you want to be prepared. If you're planning on having it done in a shop, allow lots of lead time.
- Plan and book your skills refresher. It's wise to refresh annually, whether it's an off-road course, at the track or at another recognized course – it can save your life. And it's fun.
- Get together with your riding buddies and swap stories. It's amazing how the stories grow over the winter.
- Read a motorcycle book or watch a good motorcycle movie. There are lots of adventures to dream about.
