Aug. 17 to 19 and Sept. 23 to 25 (Fall Colours Tour)

Day 1: Central Ontario - Orangeville to Haliburton

Distance: 350 km

Simcoe County Highlands
Our journey begins in beautiful Hockley Valley. We’ll take the scenic route so you can maximize your riding experience and enjoy the beauty of this unique region. Following paved secondary roads we’ll travel through pastoral farm country and scenic towns and villages. We’ll pass through vast lowlands of spruce and maple. And we’ll journey through valleys of picturesque farms and forests, gigantic boulders, and rail fences.

Heading north we’ll venture through the rocky granite of the Canadian Shield. We’ll view white pines and birch trees rising up alongside the highway. As we wind our way east we’ll soak up the wilderness, granite beauty, and remote splendor of hardwood forests, sparkling rivers and pristine lakes.

Haliburton Highlands
As we enter the Haliburton Highlands we’ll gaze out over glorious lakes and sandy beaches; winding, racing, and meandering rivers; rocky islands adorned with windswept pines, and stunning scenery tucked around every inlet and cove.

We’ll arrive at the picturesque Delta Pinestone Resort in plenty of time for you to enjoy the area’s many attractions.

On-site activities include tennis, volleyball, an outdoor pool, hiking trails, and a whirlpool. Our package here includes a discount at the on-site 18-hole course and the on-site spa.

The fabulous grounds are just five minutes outside the village of Haliburton, where you can stroll through unique shops, visit artists and their galleries, or take in a live theatre production.

Visits to the Wolf Centre, the Haliburton Forest, the Walk in the Clouds, and numerous boat cruises can be arranged for additional fees.

Dinner: Delta Pinestone Resort

Day 2: Central and Eastern Ontario - Haliburton to Gananoque

Distance: 350 km

Canadian Shield
We’ll continue our route through vast hardwood forests and jagged rock faces set amidst the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield. This will give way to the gentle, rolling hills of the Opeongo Line, where rustic barns, old stone fences, and ghost towns are plentiful and offer some spectacular riding.

We’ll pass through rugged terrain and into pioneer country, where dreams were born and lost. We’ll wind through remote regions of mountain scenery and historic hamlets with steep hills, twists and curves, plateaus, and valleys.

You’ll enjoy shopping for original art and crafts in the picture-postcard villages that line the Rideau Canal corridor. We’ll stop in traditional villages and towns that boast three centuries of Canadian heritage. Merrickville, one of our stops, is considered one of the prettiest towns in Canada.

Gananoque
We’ll end our day in Gananoque, a charming town located on the St. Lawrence River in the heart of the Thousand Islands. Our final night will be spent at the enchanting and historic Gananoque Inn.

Here you can relax on the Inn’s beautifully-landscaped lawn, which runs down to the water's edge. You can sit and watch the boats at the private 500-foot dock, or you can view the activities on the town dock a short distance away.

Scenic 1000 Island Tours aboard the Gananoque Boat Line are just a stone's throw away. Superb live theatre, golf, the Thousand Islands Charity Casino, antiquing, museums, and the community Gardens at Landon's Bay are all nearby.

Dinner: Farewell Dinner at Gananoque Inn

Day 3: Prince Edward County - Gananoque to Orangeville

Distance: 400 km

Prince Edward Country
This morning we’ll pack up and bid adieu. We’ll say farewell to Gananoque and travel through Prince Edward County, where we’ll ride along some of the oldest roads in Ontario.

As our tour draws to a close you’ll enjoy a spectacular coastline of unspoiled countryside, pastoral farms, dozens of roadside stands, and giant sand dunes. You’ll savor a relaxing ride home to end a rejuvenating and refreshing adventure.
